All the first months of the year used for hand finishing the first products in resin, a very frustrating and boring job.... So i thought of reproducing the famous Jaques Louis David painting of the Alps Crossing, he made 5 different versions between 1801 and 1805. I will made a Limited Edition of it.
The Competition about the Davout miniature is in full activity, great works can be seen there .... i will add a special one off to the winner.
Here some 40 spare heads related to different headgears of the french army, it is amazing how many differences you can find in the years . These will be sent soon for casting and i will do more of them.
Finally I can present the painted test of the French Line Lancers FC-003 and FC-004 command and team; they come with interchangeable and spare arms and saddles, here are depicted as 1 regiment. the Officer is the first miniature and horse i ever did, and it shows it, so i'm doubting to substitute the horse....
Waiting from my first sets to come, i got back in time when i was only painting, and i enjoyed this time. Now something about this set: it is definitively not the HAT standard. I believe is made for fast painters, probably very easy with black priming, but not very fancy for detail painters, the undercuts fillings are really taking away a lot of details, like in the shoulders where the greatcoat is, and the flesh very difficult to take away so i gave up and painted them with it on.
I think i did my best and after all the effect is no too bad, Hat forgiven though .......
Here a trio i always wanted to do : Mounted Hussars shooting their guns, i made 3 typical poses : picking the cartridge, hammering the ball and shooting, for this last one i will add the bridles. Hope you like them.
Here the two sets of the French Line Lancers, they will be produced in resin and in metal, will follow other sets with mounting an dismounting and dismounted, you can see my first own casts in the images
This is one of my first work, which I started from conversions , so i had completely re-done most of the pieces, in particular the horses, so now every piece is original.
French Line Lancers Command : 3 mounted miniatures, 2 spare arms, 2 interchangeable saddlecloths.
French Line Lancers Team : 4 mounted figures, 5 interchangeable arms.
soon available for purchase
Just keeping trained in my favorite work:
i'm now doing some horses for a preparation work,
i will cast some copies and transform them in different
units, as artillery, hungarian saddles etc...
I'm doing the different movements, standing, walking,
trotting, cantering, galloping , and falling;
i will produce spare horses sets .
